Duncan in the Forest

Duncan ran until he ran out of breath and was positive that no one was following him. He slumped down at the base of a big thick oak tree, thats smooth bark was really unusual. Duncan looked up the trunk to see something. His brow furrowed and a confused look on his face. He grabbed at the bark to climb, but it was so smooth he had to leap to the first branch to get a start. When he finally made it up on the branch, after he looked up, the something was gone.

Brittany approached the bottom of the tree.
"Hey, Duncan, what're you doing?" she called up.

Brittany had suprised him, he fell backwards off the branch.
